Grace.

Grace is the basis for Christian faith. We believe we are saved by faith through grace. God's grace is usually defined as underserved favor. Grace cannot be earned; it is something that is freely given. We count on God's grace and the bridge he built in our relationship with him. It offers relief in the midst of serious transgressions, like falling to show up for an important moment or betraying a promise. Give yourself grace is permission to forgive your mistakes, lapse in judgement, and hurtful behavior, because no one is perfect. It can be interchanged with giving someone: a chance, time, the ability to make mistakes without punishment, and forgiveness. Grace is unmerited favor. It's being treated well when you least deserve it. And it's an important building block in a strong marriage. Ultimately, grace isn't something to be asked for, but rather something to be freely given out of a sincere love for someone. On the one hand, grace is called-and I think it's an absolutely wonderful phase-underserve favor. Roman 3:24 " (we) are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is Christ Jesus." Grace is what inclines God to give gifts that are free and undeserved by sinners. Giving yourself grace starts with addressing perfectionism. This trait is often defined as the need to be or appear perfect or the belief that perfection is possible. It's not always a bad thing, but taken too far, perfectionism can be a huge obstacle to happiness.
