Relationship with God
Serving as our substitute, his life, death and resurrection allows us to freely relate with our creator. Jesus calls us "friend" in the bible (John 15:15).A relationship with him is a relationship of intimacy and security, of being totally known and totally accepted. It is not a relationship of equals, however. Proverbs 3:5-6 trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. Romans 8:28 and we know that all thigs work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. If your relationship with God is good you will be acting more like Jesus' overtime. Not in doing miracles, but in demonstrating the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Dwell in the presence of the divine: your path may be to pray, meditate, read spiritual material, take a long walk-through nature-or all of the above- but an optimum practice includes both morning and evening session of at least 20 minutes each. This step makes you strong. God wants a relationship with us! And he wants us to have a close 'personal relationship with him-he want us "draw near" to him and he will draw near to us (James 4:8). He says, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrew 13:5). Having an intimate relationship with God is an assurance to perfect peace. The more believers spend time in the presence of God, the stronger they become spiritually and physically. Our God is a personal God who created us for himself and is longing for an intimate relationship with us. He wants us to live in a sincere love relationship with him (Matthew22:37-38). We need to spend time alone with him, enjoy fellowship with him, communicate with him, trust, and fellow him daily.
