Joseph Interprets two Dreams-Genesis 40:1-23

The bible story relates that while in prison, the chief butler and chief baker to the pharaoh were troubled by their recent dreams. Joseph interpreted the butler's dream to mean that he would be released and returned to the Pharoah's service three days. In the first dream, Joseph sees himself and his brothers' binding sheaves in the field. His brothers' sheaves circle around his own and bow low to the ground. In his second dream, Joseph sees the sun, moon, and 11 stars bowing down to him. While these dreams are symbolic, they did not require expert interpretation. Joseph worked for Potiphar, an official of Pharaoh, but when Potiphar's wife falsely accused him of attacking her, Joesph ended up in prison. God gave Joseph the ability to interpret dreams. Pharaoh's cupbearer and baker were also in custody when they each had a dream on the same night. But while Joseph was there in the prison- the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. So, the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. "In Jail, Joseph was again blessed by God (Genesis 39:21-23). Joseph interpreted the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners. Both interpretations proved to be true, and one of the men was later released from Jail and restored to his position as the king's cub bearer (Genesis 40:1-23)."
