Blesses Ephraim and Manasseh; Ephraim's Greater Blessing-Genesis Chapter 48:1-22

 Blesses Ephraim and Manasseh

However, much to Joseph's surprise, Jacob crossed his hands, placing his right hand on Ephraim's head and the left one on Manasseh. He saw prophetically that while great men would descend from both sons, Ephraim's offspring had a greater destiny to fulfill and needed the stronger blessing .Genesis 48:20 So he blessed them that day, saying, "By you Israel will pronounce blessings, saying," God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh.Jacob also blessed the two sons of Joseph with the blessings of their father, which they inherited, and the place Ephraim, the younger, before Manasseh, the elder and by inspiration of the Lord conferred upon Ephraim the birthright in Israel.

Ephraim's Greater Blessing

This is the blessing spoken by the patriarch Jacob in Genesis 48:20 over his two grandsons. So, he blessed them that day, saying, "By you Israel will bless, saying, May God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh! "And thus he sat Ephriam before Manasseh is this blessing so relevant?"He blesses Manasseh, firstborn, with greatness; he blesses Ephraim, the younger boy, by saying that he would be still greater, not only a people but a multitude of nations (Genesis48:16,19) In the bible. Ephraim holds symbolic significance that extends beyond the individual and encompasses the tribe descended from him. Ephriam represents several key themes and concepts.: Fruitfulness and Prosperity: The name Ephraim itself means "Fruitful" in Hebrew. A patriarchal blessing includes a declaration of lineage, stating that the person is of the house of Israel-a descendant of Abraham, belonging to a specific tribe of Jacob. Many Latter-day Saints are of the tribe of Ephraim, the tribe given the primary responsibility to lead the latter -day work of the Lord.
