Exodus Chapter 5:1-23(CSB)
Moses Confronts Pharaoh
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he goes to the water and say to him, this is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. If you do not let my people go, I will send swarms of flies on you and your officials, on your people and into your house. And afterwards Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, thus saith the Lord God of Israel, let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. God then charged Moses to lead the Israelites out of bondage and bring them to the Promised Land. He also told him to use his brother Aaron as his spokesman, because "he can speak fluently"(Exodus 4:14). Moses and Aaron dutifully set out for Egypt, where they requested an audience with Pharaoh. According to the biblical narrative , Moses lived 120 years and was 80 when he confronted Pharaoh, but there is no indication how old he was when he went to see the Hebrews.
Further Oppression of Israel
Moses went back to the Lord and asked,"Lord, why have you caused trouble for this people? And why did you ever send me? Ever since I went in to Pharaoh to speak in your name he has caused trouble for this people, and you haven't rescued your people at all."
