Exodus 21:1-36  These are the ordinances that you are to set before them: Law about Slaves When you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for six years; then in the seventh he is to leave as a free man without paying anything. If he arrives alone, he is to leave alone; if he arrives with a wife, his wife is to leave with him. If his master gives him a wife and she bear him sons or daughters, the wife and her children belong to her master, and the man must leave alone. But if the slaves declare, "I love my master, my wife, and my children; I do not want to leave as a free man," his master is to bring him to the judges and then bring him to the judges and then bring him to the door or doorpost. His master will pierce his ear with an awl and will serve his master for life. When a man sells his daughter as a concubine, she is not to leave as the male slaves do. If she is displeasing to her master, who chose her for himself, then he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell h...

They traveled from Rephidim, came to the Sinai Wilderness, and camped in the wilderness. Moses went up to the mountain to God, and Lord called to him from the mountain."This is what you must say to the house of Jacob and explain to the Israelites: You have seen what I did to Egyptian and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself. Moses summoned the elders of the people and set before them all these words that the Lord had commanded him. Then all the people responded together, "We will do all that the Lord has spoken." The Lord said to Moses, "I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will always believe you. "Moses reported the people's words to the Lord, and the Lord told Moses," Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. They must wash their clothes and be ...

Exodus 17:1-16 Water from the Rock The Israelites Community left the Wilderness of Sin. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. The people complained to Moses, "Give us water to drink."  Why are you complaining to me?" Moses replied to them. "Why are you testing the Lord?" The people grumbled, "why did you ever bring us up from Egypt to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst? "Then Moses cried out to the Lord, "what should I do with these people? In a little while they will stone me!" The Lord answered Moses, Take the staff you struck the Nile within your hand and go. Exodus 16:1-36 (CSB)

Exodus 16:1-36 Manna and Quail Provided The glory of the Lord became apparent to the people in a cloud over the desert(exodus16:10). But more was to come from the sky. God provided meat (quail that flew into camp each evening) and bread (manna: wafer-like flakes that landed on the dew each morning) for the people. The Israelites ate manna forty years, until they came to a land that was settled; they ate manna until they reached the border of Cannan. In Exodus, the author only makes a brief reference to the quails, saying that they "came up and covered the camp" (16:13). The account in Exodus focuses much more on God's gift of manna. The manna is described as " bread from heaven," indicating that God created it expressly for the Hebrews (Ex.16:4)  Gift of manna and quills on the wilderness when the Israelites came to the wilderness of sin, they were hungry they murmured against Moses and Aaron and wished they were left in Egypt where food was available refer th...

Exodus 15:1-27 Israel's Song Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord. They said: I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted; he has thrown the horse and its rider into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name. He threw Pharaoh's chariots and his army into the sea; the elite of his officers were drowned in the Red Sea. The floods covered them; they sank to the depth like a stone. Lord, your right hand is glorious in power. Lord, your right hand shattered the enemy. You overthrew your adversaries by your great majesty. You unleashed your burning wrath; it consumed them like stubble. The water heaped up at the blast from your nostrils; the currents stood firm like a dam. The watery depth congealed in the heart of the sea. The enemy said: "I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil. ...
