 Exodus 16:1-36

Manna and Quail Provided

The glory of the Lord became apparent to the people in a cloud over the desert(exodus16:10). But more was to come from the sky. God provided meat (quail that flew into camp each evening) and bread (manna: wafer-like flakes that landed on the dew each morning) for the people. The Israelites ate manna forty years, until they came to a land that was settled; they ate manna until they reached the border of Cannan. In Exodus, the author only makes a brief reference to the quails, saying that they "came up and covered the camp" (16:13). The account in Exodus focuses much more on God's gift of manna. The manna is described as " bread from heaven," indicating that God created it expressly for the Hebrews (Ex.16:4)

Gift of manna and quills on the wilderness when the Israelites came to the wilderness of sin, they were hungry they murmured against Moses and Aaron and wished they were left in Egypt where food was available refer than to perish in the wilderness the Lord told Moses that he would rain bread (manner)from heaven for them. Exodus states that the Israelites consumed the manna for 40 years, starting from the fifteenth day of the second month, but that it then ceased to appear once they had reached a settled land, and once they had reached the borders of Cannan (Inhabited by the Canaanites).
